People ask me all the time, “What is your best cigar?” or “What do you smoke?” There are many good cigars, and a lot depends on who you are with, what you are doing, etc. Here is a very short list of five cigars I enjoy while hitting a few balls on the range or playing a few eighteen. Arturo Fuente 858 – This is a mild, rich brown cigar with a toasty aroma and a woody slightly spice finish. A great morning cigar that has a mild smoke and a good draw, and perfect for one that does not smoke every day. La Unica 100 – This long 8 ½ inch Dominican cigar has a creamy mild smoke with some woody notes. This super long cigar is great for 15 holes. I light it up on number three and finish it has I am walking off the eighteenth green. Partagas Spanish Rosado – This cigar has a plush brown wrapper with a creamy mild to medium smoke, caramel and coffee notes. This Partagas is a great cigar for the morning or afternoon, a cool smoke with a nice ash. Oliveros XL 60 – This cigar advertises itself as the cigar for a professional smoker. This is a big sixty ring double maduro with an oily wrapper and a very robust flavor. A great cigar for the nineteenth hole or after lunch. Camacho Cojojo – This is my favorite on this list. A Honduran Puro, this veiny cigar has a woody and peppery flavor with a hint of leather. This medium body cigar is perfect for any smoker and at any time of day. This is just a short list of many great cigars. A cigar fits in the hand as perfect as a golf club, and even the worst game of golf is somewhat bearable when you have a good cigar. And remember, smoke in moderation, only one cigar at a time.

There is nothing better in life than standing on the first tee, lining up your shot, the morning mist just starting to clear, and smoking on a good cigar. You watch the smoke curl upward, using it to judge the wind, knowing your going to have a great day.
